2016 Summary of Parent Surveys

Parent Survey Summary
The AdvancED surveys are standardized to be thorough, valid, reliable, and provided for all districts in its membership as part of our accreditation. Twin River Public Schools is not able to change any wording of survey questions or responses. Again we appreciate your time in filling out these surveys and continue to use your responses in our School Improvement Process and celebrate your participation in providing 108 completed surveys for the team to analyze. The results of the open-ended questions are being tabulated by the administration as they consider further improvement steps where applicable.

The following summary table reports the data from the parent surveys taken in the fall of 2016 as analyzed by teacher groups during in-service time. AdvancED established 5 standards under which effective schools operate. Data review groups were created randomly to include at least one school improvement steering committee member to record the observations and supporting evidence. Each group was assigned a standard and provided a copy of the response percentages for the levels of strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, and strongly agree from each question related to that standard. The objective was to identify notable strengths and all areas of concern with supporting evidence. The group was given the chance to cognitively explore and record any possible improvement strategies or action plans for the improvement team to consider. Thus the table is a summary of the observations from the parent survey responses.

The team is currently working to provide a spot on the Twin River web page to house this data information table as well as be a resource to all stakeholders on school improvement goals and progress.
Overall summary of the 5 standards:
All scores were 3.2 or higher out of 5. The highest was Standard 4 Resources and Support with a score of 3.62. The lowest was standard 2 Governance with a score of 3.24. According to AdvancED, any score above a 4 is great. Most responses were between agree and neutral. Most questions had more strongly agree than strongly disagree. One of our low scores was on the reviewing of our purpose statement with parent involvement as well as support resources. High scores included updated technology and that the school provides a safe learning environment and access to a variety of information resources.
