HANDICAPPED CHILD NOTICE and CHILD FIND FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES
HANDICAPPED CHILD NOTICE
This notice is to inform the patrons of Twin River Public Schools that: Public law 94-142 and State Rules 51 and 54 mandate that a free, appropriate public education is available to each handicapped child, 0-21 years of age, who resides in the local school district.
CHILD FIND FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES
The Twin River Public School District asks you to assist us in our "Nebraska Child Find" efforts. This is an ongoing statewide search for all unserved children with disabilities, ages birth through 21. If you know of a child who is experiencing difficulties with motor development, speech and language, vision, hearing or learning, please refer the parent to the number below.
If the child resides in our district, Twin River Public School will provide an educational evaluation at no cost to the parent. If the child resides elsewhere, Twin River Public School will provide contact information so the child may receive an evaluation in their own school district. If the child qualifies under Nebraska law for special education services, a free and appropriate educational program will be developed to meet his/her educational needs.
To contact us for more information, please call Christina Laska (402) 993-2274 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also contact Nebraska Child find at (888) 806-6287.
